Bocas has had a comeback year. Chiquita has returned to Changuinola, tourism is strong, and buyer interest in the islands is climbing again. For buyers who have been watching Bocas from a distance, the mood on the ground has clearly turned.

My top tip: titled vs rights of possession
My number one piece of advice for Bocas buyers is to always check whether a property is titled or rights of possession (ROP) before you buy. Titled property gives you full legal ownership. Rights of possession can be harder to finance, insure and resell, so understand exactly what you're buying before you commit. A buyer's agent and your own lawyer can confirm a property's status before you sign anything.
In Panama, buyers pay no agent fee
And remember: buyers in Panama pay no agent fee. As a buyer, your costs are your own lawyer plus minor notary and land registration fees, so having professional representation on your side costs you nothing.
